In a previous post I posted how some jerk broke into my tuck and sole my big hello kitty. Today I replaced her.
Meet my new Monster Kitty. She is 32 in tall and weighs in over 8 pounds. I do not know I can carry her her at any fan convention. I may have to swap day with my small big kitty.
I also pick up Hello Kitty and Hangyodon ornaments.
Recently I got into a dust off over a discussion over gender and clothing on a christian furry board I am part of. Eventually the conversation came around can a man wear an article of clothing of the opposite sex. Some of agree that there a difference between transvestitism fetish and style. I brought up my donning a Hello Kitty backpack for purely aesthetical reasons and not a sexual fetish. One particular fellow misapplied Deuteronomy 22:5 “A woman shall not wear a man’s garment, nor shall a man put on a woman’s cloak, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord your God.” He applied to all situations and the church today rather and specifically to the Israelite people as God gave them the law before they were to enter the promise land. (This is far I am going since this is not a theological discussion) .
The skinny of it is there a lot more to Deuteronomy 22:5 but a guy just wearing and apparel or accessory is not enough to be a violation of this verse. As I refuted his argument, I started thinking and like to know have any guys wear Hello Kitty items like shoes or a shirt.
Since there is not much Hello Kitty for apparel men, my question is do you buy Hello Kitty apparel regardless they were made for the opposite sex. I can say I do in away with my back pack. I seen picture of guys wearing Hello Kitty PJ’s In addition, how about the new Hello Kitty X Vans collection of shoes and backpacks, I have to admit if I was looking for new backpack I would get one of the Vans. The new slip-ons look like a guy could getaway wearing them.

Ps. while doing some research, I went to the Vans webpage and noted the adult Hello Kitty shoes are listed in boys and men along comparative women’s sizes. Is Vans sending us a message foreseeing men and boys purchasing the shoes for themselves?
But last the do not make them in size 15 for me and the custom build page does not include Hello Kitty designs. 🙁
I made my first order at Snrio.com. I wanted the Black Hello Kitty lanyard for work, my usual store had ran out of them. This is one my pet peeves: Sanrio stores running out of item or keeping too few in stock. Sanrio.com came though for me. For good measure, I also bought a Chococat and My Melody Christmas ornaments.
There is a rhyme to my reason for the black lanyard. After my earlier contract, I became aware about being furry at work. Even through they say my Hello Kitty items were not the issue; I still feel it doesn’t’ help if I stick out in the environment. I decided this time I would be a sneaky Kitty, and be less overt about my love for Katy Chan at work. First, the Hello Kitty backpack. First rule of working is to fit into the work culture. I noted nobody had character backpacks, so I took a lager backpack to hold my Hello Kitty backpack. All I have to do is to pull out my Kitty backpack for the weekends. Next, I took care of lanyard and Computer personalization. The word is inconspicuous hence the Black Hello Kitty lanyard. The computer wallpapers was more harder; I could not find a subdue Hello Kitty wall paper, too many of them bright or pink colors,. The solution was to uses Paint Shop pro on my chosen background, Black background with a pink Hello Kitty badge. First, I changed the color to blue then blended Hello Kitty into the background.
Of course, there is one way to be 100% Kitty without working at Sanrio, my own business. If my business grows and I am a rich CEO, my personal secretary will have to remember to load my private jet with my Hello Kitty plushies and take them to the hotel room. Another way as a go, as a furry I know puts it, s to be the most valuable worker and they will put up with some eccentricities.
