Men Wearing Hello Kitty Apparel

Recently I got into a dust off over a discussion over gender and clothing on  a christian furry board I am part of.    Eventually the conversation came around can a man wear an article of clothing of the opposite sex. Some of agree that there a difference between transvestitism fetish and style. I brought up my donning a Hello Kitty backpack   for purely aesthetical reasons and not a sexual fetish.   One particular fellow misapplied Deuteronomy 22:5  “A woman shall not wear a man’s garment, nor shall a man put on a woman’s cloak, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord your God.” He applied to all situations and the church today rather and specifically to the Israelite people as God gave them the law before they were to enter the promise land. (This is far I am going since this is not a theological discussion) .

The skinny of it is there a lot more to Deuteronomy 22:5 but a guy just wearing and apparel or accessory is not enough to be a violation of this verse. As I refuted his argument, I started thinking and like to know have any  guys wear  Hello Kitty items  like shoes or a shirt.

Since there is not much Hello Kitty for apparel men, my question is do you buy Hello Kitty apparel regardless they were made for the opposite sex. I can say I do in away with my back pack. I seen picture of guys wearing Hello Kitty PJ’s In addition, how about the new Hello Kitty X Vans collection of shoes and backpacks, I have to admit if I was looking for new backpack I would get one of the Vans. The new slip-ons look like a guy could getaway wearing them.

I would like to know so leave a comment.

Ps. while doing some research, I went to the Vans webpage and noted the adult Hello Kitty shoes are listed in boys and men along comparative women’s sizes. Is Vans sending us a message foreseeing men and boys purchasing the shoes for themselves?

But last the do not make them in size 15 for me and the custom build page does not include Hello Kitty designs. 🙁

  1. What i can say about this. I don’t currently own any Hello Kitty female sized shirts or shoes, but still that is a thing that 95% of people in my island (i don’t want to slam it but i must speak the truth) see as how a man can wear hello kitty apparel even is men sizes.

As an owner of 15 different unisex New Era Hello Kitty baseball caps, 20 Hello Kitty men sized shirts, two Dr. Martens unisex size boots, 2 Vans sneakers, i have seen how they stereotype a man who likes hello kitty and proudly shows it with the typical sexual orientation or ”he must be a drug junkie” those are just the mentality of closed minded bigots who just follow what the media tells them.
I got used to and if i gonna do something like wearing Hello Kitty and Sanrio character clothing, it is because i really like it and no matter if mainstream society accepts it, i must do it since i enjoy it. I don’t do it for shock value or to be a ”rebel” like some other people have think about it.

It is a personal love to those characters that their awesome backgrounds maintain that innocence that every human being must hold even we have learn the tough side of reality of the Adult life and the world.

There has been people who like it and accepts it since those are the ones who don’t believe in those ”social norms”. For me there is nothing out of this world if a men uses a Hello Kitty apparel that fits him and it is female sized. Since right now when you can get male Hello Kitty shirts more accessible is on welovefine.com and now the in the Sanrio website that they have the Hello Kitty Street Fighter:

    http://www.sanrio.com/index.cfm/fuseaction/product.browse/_/street-fighter-x-sanrio/categoryID/5778b286-3be8-4377-9455-3a9060e90c2e/

I can see how many male Hello Kitty and Sanrio fans are out there. All the male shirts are the ones selling out first. This must say something?

Getting back to the subject. The only thing that i am wearing which is directly to female are two of the Swarovski long necklace that they have made. I bought them when they were on clearance and i must say those are the two i could see that can fit a man too. The rest weren’t that close for my taste but i respect every men who decides to use the ones more female looking too.

I’m sorry to hear that in the Christian furry forum they have add you that. I don’t think that God, our creator who is true love would judge you by using a Hello Kitty shirt who is female size.

I’m glad i can share my personal experiences too. The same thing you do and I’m more than glad that human beings like you still exists.

I’m another male heterosexual in his early twenties that enjoy this along some many other tastes.

I think that is awesome that you are 50 and you got the chance of know Hello Kitty when she came first.

Keep up this excellent blog. You have one loyal supporter here.

    Best Wishes,

    Chris

  2. Well for tee shirts if they are for male/unisex I wear them (I have Chobits, MLP:FiM, Sanrio, Sailor Moon, Ghost in the Shell, etc.)
If I see a tee in the female area I don’t buy it (mostly because of the figure), but other items like: binders, camara bag, stickers, pins and other stuff I do.

  3. i am a male and wear hello kitty vans , bookbags, shirts, hats, socks, shirts, and so on and the only thing people ask is why i wear them and i say cause i feel like it and im not gay cause i wear this

  4. Yes I wear Kitty shirts and backpacks. Initially it was a dare from female friends, but as I got to know her and what she is about, I realised I could wear this stuff with no regret and without feeling messed up. I think gender orienting anything is foolish. .. what a person likes is what they like, and usually it’s on the basis of the character’s character ..not if it leans toward 1 sex or the other.

  5. I can sit for hours and sift through online stores with Hello Kitty apparel. I found out that having Kitty clothes on actually made me think of myself as cute. I haven’t had a crave for being the cute copy of myself in public, i might have had panties on under my jeans a number of times, but i’m sure noone have ever noticed. For me it’s somewhat of a privat hobby that i practice alone when i feel a need for it. It’s like having a siesta from my daily life, focus on something else, and then return to normal life relieved from a portion of stress with a little cute smile on my face 😉

I can see how that cold offend anyone.. People who are very close to me knows this side of me and they all just responded with a smile when i’ve shared my secret kitty hobby.

I like to think that it’s the clothes that are so damn cute so even a male soon turning 40 like me would can’t resist from bying like a little share of that cuteness, for me and my home
